When scanning with longer lenses (90mm+ full frame equivalent) its difficult to mask all the light coming in your scanning station. With the Film Carrier 120 Hood Extension you can extend the height of the hood by 4.1in so all extraneous light is masked creating a more contrasty scan by eliminating ambient light.
